John Philip Cannon, 82, of Levittown, PA, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2023.
John was born in Jersey City to Henry and Annette Cannon on July 15, 1940. He graduated from
Emerson H. S. (Union City) in 1958. He advanced to Jersey City State College where he graduated with a
Master of Arts Degree in Science Education. He taught Science for 35 years; ending his successful
professional career at McManus Junior High School in Linden, NJ, where he also coached soccer and
softball. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing,
gardening, chess, travelling and photography. His sense of humor and zest for life were infectious to all
who were lucky enough to have known him.
John is survived by his daughters Natyna Kosik and Andraya Parkhurst and her husband Drew, and
grandchildren, Jakub, Bennett, Juliana, Avery, and sister Kathleen and her husband Bernard Casey, and
brother Robert Cannon and wife Bernadette, and his many nieces, nephews and beloved cousins, whose
events he never missed.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 3:00pm, at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home 17 S. Delaware Ave, Yardley, PA 19067. Calling hours for relatives and friends will be from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the funeral home. Condolences for the family can be left at
