Carolyn P. Kuhlman Obituary

Carolyn Kuhlman, 76, passed to the life eternal on 26 June, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with dementia and cancer.



Born in Brooklyn, NY, Carolyn was raised in East Brunswick, NJ from the age of 13 before meeting and marrying the love of her life and moving to Yardley, PA in 1968 where she raised her daughters and spent the rest of her life. A model citizen, Carolyn volunteered her time as a longtime member of the Yardley Coterie and Welcome Wagon. A devoted Catholic, Carolyn dedicated her working years to helping others as an employee of the Catholic Charities Diocese of Trenton, NJ for more than 30 years. Upon retirement in 2016, Carolyn enjoyed traveling, and spending as much time as possible with her only grandchild, Kaitlyn. She was well-known for her love of God and country and unwavering support of our military. More than anything, she will be remembered for her kindness, caring nature, and boundless love of family.



Carolyn was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Gustav R. Kuhlman Jr.

She is survived by her loving children, Kendra Marshall and her husband Christopher Marshall of Huntingdon Valley, PA and Meredith McCarthy and her husband Colonel Todd McCarthy (USMC) and granddaughter Kaitlyn McCarthy of East Greenville, PA; sister, Joann Gootee and her husband Tony Gootee of FL.


The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 12pm at St Ignatius Catholic Church 999 Reading Ave. Yardley, PA 19067. Calling hours will be held from 11:00am to 11:45am at the church. Interment will be at 1:30PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA 18940. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Catholic Charities Diocese of Trenton in Carolyn’s name. Condolences for the family can be left at www.fitzgeraldsommerfuneralhome.com.
