Obituary of Joan A. Terc

Please share a memory of Joan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan A. Terc, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Joan Terc was born on September 11, 1942. She passed away peacefully on August 15, 2023, surrounded by her cherished family and her loyal companion, Louie. Born and raised in Flushing, New York, Joan met the love of her life, Bob Terc, at the tender age of 16. Together they built a life filled with love, joy, and countless memories. Married for sixty-two years, their love story is a testament to the power of true companionship. As a devoted mother, Joan, raised her three daughters, JoAnne, Marabeth, and Caroline, with unwavering love and support. Her warmth and kindness extended to her sons-in-law, Douglas, Nestor, and Glenn, who were welcomed into her heart as her own. A Nana with an overflowing heart, Joan adored her grandchildren: Jordan, Lauren, Brandon, and Samantha. She was a guiding light in our lives, offering wisdom, love, and a listening ear whenever we needed it. Her love extended to our respective spouses Megan and David and even continued to the next generation, as she became a great-grandmother to Avery, Harper, Savannah, and Mackenzie. Nana had a special way of finding beauty in the ordinary and loved hunting for a good deal at yard sales on the weekends. Her love for yard sales was a passion that activated her entrepreneurial spirit. She owned and operated several successful businesses. She was the proud owner of Party Planners, a catering business that brought joy to countless celebrations. Additionally, she co-ran Consigning Women, a consignment shop, alongside her youngest daughter Caroline. Joan's dedication to her work was surpassed only by her dedication and love of her family. When she wasn't working, she had a playful side, often trying her luck at the casino's slot machines and testing her fate with lottery tickets. She had a unique tradition of placing lottery tickets under dinner plates showing everyone her optimistic outlook on life. Nana's love for holidays was evident in her extravagant celebrations. Christmas became magical under her care, with a room filled with presents straight from the heart of Mrs. Claus. Epic Easter egg hunts brought smiles and laughter to all who participated. Thanksgiving showcased her legendary culinary prowess. She crafted the most delicious meals that left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to savor them. She also made an amazing cheesecake! An ardent lover of dogs, Nana's home was often graced by the presence of furry companions. She fostered a haven of love, laughter, and open doors. Her hospitality knew no bounds, welcoming everyone with open arms. She ensured that no guest left her home without a heartily enjoyed meal and a warm smile. Throughout her life, Nana's words of wisdom resonated with those around her. She would often say she was "alive and well," encouraging all to "keep the faith." Nana's legacy of togetherness, resilience, and boundless love will forever echo in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as the heart and soul of our family. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 10:15am at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home 17 S. Delaware Ave. Yardley, PA 19067. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and again on Saturday morning from 9:30am until the time of service. Interment will be in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery 1215 Super Highway Langhorne, Pa, 19047. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to a charity of your choice, reflecting Nana's commitment to helping others.
