Stephen C. Kleid Obituary

Stephen Charles Kleid, 78, of Yardley, PA, passed away surrounded by family on December 13, 2023. He was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, and attended Saint Peter's Prep before earning his degree in Engineering from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA. After graduation, he joined US Steel, where he was employed for 30 years.

Stephen married the love of his life, Noreen (Higgins), on April 27, 1968. Thereafter, Stephen and Noreen began their family in Bristol Township before settling in Yardley. Together, they enjoyed over 55 years of marriage.

Stephen was active in the Jaycee organization for many years. He volunteered in various roles, from selling concessions and the Pennsbury-Neshaminy football games, to teaching English to recent immigrants, to playing Santa Claus during holiday parties for underprivileged children throughout Bucks County. He is fondly remembered as a basketball coach in the Fairless Hills Recreational Basketball League and coached many generations of players. Stephen and Noreen traveled the world, experiencing adventures from scuba diving in Australia to driving cross-country several times. They enjoyed yearly trips to both Saint Maarten and Shawnee, where they gained lifelong friendships. Stephen was a devoted Giants fan and season ticket holder, a passion he passed on to both his children and grandchildren, and he enjoyed watching four Super Bowl wins during his lifetime. However, his favorite roles, which he will be most lovingly remembered for, was his focus on family as a husband, father, and "Grandpa Kleid".

Stephen was predeceased by his parents, Francis Kleid and Margaret (Hartmann) Kleid; and his siblings, "Frankie" Kleid and "Ricky" Kleid. Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Noreen (Higgins) Kleid of Yardley; children Michael Kleid (Erika) of Brookly, NY, Geoffrey R. Kleid (Jennifer) of Levittown, Gregory F. Kleid (Amber) of Waynesville, NC, and Laura A. Cole (Jason)of Phoenixville; grandchildren, Cassandra and Makenzie Kleid, and Skylar and Tanner Kleid; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
