Please share a memory of Donna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Donna Lee Wiegand passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024, at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

Donna was born on November 3, 1934 in York, PA as an only child to Nancy and Jacob Workinger. She moved to many different homes throughout her childhood, graduated from Abington High School and worked her way through Peirce Business School in Philadelphia. While working as a legal secretary for the law firm Drinker, Biddle & Reath, Donna went on a blind date on New Year’s Eve and met the love of her life, Louis Wiegand, Jr. They went out
to a Hawaiian restaurant and the rest is history. Joined in 1956, Donna and Lou were happily married for 67 years and raised three children, Nancy, Douglas and Richard in Yardley, PA. On weekends, Donna enjoyed boating and the beach with family and friends on Long Beach Island, NJ.

She worked as an administrative assistant at Portion Packaging and for Bucks County Community College’s Development Office. When their children left the nest, Donna and Lou retired to Naples, FL where they golfed and traveled extensively with friends. She was a talented seamstress, accomplished cook and entertainer, and always the most social person in the room. A devoted wife, friend, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Donna always put her family first and never turned down a great pair of new shoes, a chocolate peanut butter dessert or a dog to love. Best yet, she had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Louis Wiegand, Jr., her daughter Nancy McHenry and her husband, Seth, her son Douglas Wiegand and his wife, JoAnne, her son Richard Wiegand, her grandchildren Jordan Wiegand and his wife, Megan, Brandon Wiegand, Scott McHenry and his wife Katie, Shannon du Pont and her husband, Pierre, Ryan McHenry and his wife, Larissa, Christopher Wiegand, Katie Wiegand, Mary Lynn Wiegand and her
husband Joseph DiGangi. Donna is also survived by her great grandchildren, Avery, Harper and Mackenzie Wiegand, Luna McHenry, Harrison and Bennett DiGangi. She will be missed and fondly remembered by all of them.

The family will hold a memorial service for Donna on May 16, 2024, at 10:30am at the Morrisville Presbyterian Church where Donna was a member for more than 50 years. Rev. Dr. Janet Nolting Carter and Rev. Rachel Rhodes will officiate.
