Scott Edward MacDonald, 69, of Yardley PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and dear friends, after a courageous battle with lung cancer, on May 18, 2024. Scott was born in Lakewood, Ohio to Donald and Beverly MacDonald on April 8, 1955. He attended the Northfield Mount Hermon School, graduated in 1973. Scott was a hardworking and involved student. In addition, Scott loved running and had many running achievements, including breaking Olympian, Frank Shorter's record and proceeded to attend the Junior Olympics. He went on to earn his BA in Geology and Spanish at Duke University, graduated in 1977. He then taught Spanish at Loomis Chaffee High School and continued onto Rice University earning his Master's in Geology in 1984. While at Rice, he studied and performed research in Antarctica. Scott was a Principal at ENVIRON/Ramboll where he spent most of his career. He will be remembered for his commitment to his clients and his undeniable work ethic. Scott traveled the world throughout his career and especially loved London. He loved Philadelphia sports, especially the Phillies, and cheering on the Duke Blue Devils. He enjoyed fly fishing with his dearest friend, Scott Vokey, and other dear friends. He loved scuba diving with his children and other family members in Honduras, Fiji, and the Caribbean. He spent many vacations with his extended family and friends at the Outer Banks, where he loved floating in the ocean, kayaking, wave runners, crabbing, and manning the grill with his brothers-in-law, Frank and Ed, and his dear friends. Scott always relished his time with the Berard family and the laughter that we shared will always be remembered. Scott also cherished the good times and holidays spent with his family. Scott was passionate about politics and was a staunch supporter of our country. Scott's commitment to his family was exceptional and unwavering. He was a loving son, loyal brother and devoted father and faithful husband. When at home he enjoyed being with the people he loved while in his yard or swimming in his pool and listening to music and ending a night with a classic action movie. Scott was pre-deceased by his mother Beverly Elizabeth MacDonald. Scott is survived by his wife of almost 28 years, Kathryn A. MacDonald, his children Colin S. MacDonald (21), Olivia H. MacDonald (26), Erin E. MacDonald (33), all of Yardley, and Tyler J. Moss (39), of Bristol, PA, and grandson Liam H. Moss of Levittown, PA. He is also survived by his sister, Lynn MacDonald, of Yardley, PA, and brother, Bryan MacDonald, of Wilton, CT, and many nieces and nephews.
