I met Bill through his golf league. We hit it off right away because we both liked sports, competition and we both liked to redecorate our places. Bill was one of those rare guys that liked to shop. I didn’t know him during his biking years, but he had a top self bicycle that he proudly displayed in his place. Most people would be biter that their health had changed and limited what they could do…not Bill. He got out on the golf course, sometimes playing only a few holes, sometimes just riding around checking on us. The last few years Bill spent a lot of time in hospitals, but didn’t complain. We both had gone through a bunch of different health issues and would joke how we were keeping the dr.’s in business. We also joked that when he was having breathing difficulties, I was the perfect person to talk to…because I did all the talking. I will miss our conversations, our dinners, and his calming presence.
