Ronald L. Brock

Waynesville - Ronald Lewis Brock, 76, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Charles George V.A. Medical Center.

Ronald was a native and resident of Haywood County. Ron was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Woody Brock. In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen Brock, who passed away in 2017; two sisters, June Cook and Brenda Neal; and two brothers, William Brock and Marvin Wiggins.

Ronald was a proud member of the United States Army (retired) and served his country during the Vietnam War. A right arm amputee, and Purple Heart Recipient, he loved his country. Rarely would he been seen without a Vietnam Veteran's hat. Much of his adult life was spent in Lower Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where he raised a family and built his own business KMB Vending, retiring in 2011. Beginning as a mechanic with Macke Company, his work ethic and determination brought him to a supervisory role, and then into KMB, which he ran with his son Ron Jr.. Ron remained true to his rural heritage by helping out on his daughter Kim's horse farm, he is remembered by many students as "Pop Pop", serving as a role model, and by example, that anything is possible. He was the Patriarch of his family, the go to for advice, to vent, and how to fix anything. Ron is remembered for his gardens, and spent many hours on his porch, enjoying time with Willow and Bailey, his dogs, and the variety of cats his granddaughters brought to stay with him. He loved his grandchildren more than anything on this earth. Kercy was his care giver and best buddy, his eyes lit up when speaking of the accomplishments of all of his grandchildren. Retiring to Waynesville to be near his brother Harry and other family members was a treasured part of Ron's life. He touched many lives over the course of his, always an inspiration that if you have the will, you will find a way.

Ron is survived by his daughter, Kim Ayers, of Blounts Creek, North Carolina; his son, Ron Brock JR, of Croydon, Pennsylvania; brother, Harry Brock, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Waynesville and six grandchildren, Indiana Ayers, Joshua Brock, Kercy Ayers, April Ayers, Sawyer Brock, and Amia Brock.
