Charles B. Jacobson, 95, of Yardley, PA, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Meryl S. Jacobson and father and father-in law of Ann Jacobson Parham and Ruben Parham Jr. of Effort, PA, Carolyn Jacobson Bowers and Michael Bowers of New Port Richey, FL, Gerard Jacobson of Fairless Hills, PA, Clare Jacobson and Richard Beresis of San Francisco, CA, Diane Jacobson O'Brien and Shawn O'Brien of Erie, PA, and John Jacobson of Smicksburg, PA; beloved also to his ten grandchildren, Matthew Jacobson and his spouse Noreen Jacobson, Samantha Bowers and her spouse Clare Bibby, Makayla, and Jacob Bowers, Ben and Adam Parham, Luke and Cole Jacobson, and Meghan and Dan O'Brien. Charles was a proud alumnus of John Marshall High School in Cleveland, OH, Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore ,MD, and John Carroll University in University Heights,OH. He married Meryl in 1956, and raised his six children with her. They moved to Yardley in 1968 and became parishioners of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. He remained a faithful parishioner to the end and was a Eucharistic minister. He worked as a chemist for a variety of companies and was instrumental in the development of three patents. Charles was a lifelong baseball lover—as a player (catcher), coach and fan. He was an avid reader and an active stamp collector. He was a proud Army veteran who had a penchant for history and architecture. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at St. Ignatius Church 999 Reading Avenue Yardley, PA 19067. A private burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road), Yardley. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Our Lady of Victory Homes of Charity, Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, and World Villages for Children.
