Dear Jean,
We want to say thank you for the beautiful time spent with you.
We knew you better 6 years ago. You were so kind and gentle and full of life.
You were so happy to be in Italy and very curious about everything, eager to learn how to cook italian food, spending time with the aunties, laughing and observing everything, though staying discrete.
I danced with you in the little square of the tiny village, we ate pasta at night on August 15th, staying up late and having fun.
We went strolling around Leonessa, having coffee, while the others went cycling. You were happy and grateful to everyone.
We saw you again just three months ago, you were weaker but strong in your mind, determined, and willing to get better and better day by day. We walked on the riverside, went to Yardley Memorial and had our first American Breakfast with you . You were always so sweet and kind.
And the pasta party at your house, thank you again for wanting us to come and make pasta. Another wonderful day.
Thank you sweet Jean for having enlightened these moments in our lives.
Rest in peace, we'll never forget you but will miss you a lot.
We all feel very close to Alberto, Stephanie, Justin, Chloe, Rocco, your beloved family and we're sure they'll keep you in their heart forever. You'll be their guide.
Sonia, Jean, Mattia and Francesco

When you marry into a family, you become part of a culture that is different from your own. This is what I encountered when I married Paul, Jean’s nephew. You hope for acceptance and love and common ground. The Lucci family was welcoming and I alway felt accepted.
There was a connection. with Aunt Jean that I so appreciated. Maybe it was because we were both teachers and had married into the same family. Whatever the connection, it was palpable.. Aunt Jean made me feel like I was important; she made me feel accepted and seen.
I am so fortunate to have the extended family that I do. Jean is a role model and always someone that everyone would want in their family.
Aunt Jean—I treasure you; I admire you and I hope I can reflect you and your values with ny own extended family.

Whenever I saw Jean Carol, she made everything brighter. She'd greet me with a warm hug and call me Collie. These photos are from a video of Uncle Elton's 1976 picnic. At around 2:18 Jean Carol leads all us kids in the crazy games I loved so much. I'll miss her. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAfm-Yz3J0g

Rain or shine, hot or cold, Jean and I would spend time together at the bus stop with Rocco, Christian, and the other boys of Delaware Rim. She was a committed grandma and kind, sweet person. Her crown in heaven adorns her now. A beautiful soul for sure.

With our deepest sympathy to your family. We knew her for as long as we remember Mrs. Jean as a sweet, humble and kind person. She always came into the salon with a smile and gave us such wonderful life advice. She’s not oily one of a kind customer, she was our other mother. Words can’t describe our sympathy. We will keep your family in our prayer.

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of this precious lady. I am friends with her son and I know how deeply this loss goes with all family members. My prayer is that the sweet and wonderful memories that will come to mind serve as a warm light of her love, nurturing, resilience, and compassion and bring a hope of seeing her again. May God give all her family a strength and a peace that surpasses all understanding.

Jean was a faithful friend and colleague whose unending smile and uplifting spirit spread throughout the school and all the students. She never failed to motivate the students to achieve their highest potential and as a fellow teacher, and as a parent, I admired that ability in her. Her love of her students and of those around her was uplifting. A true star was lost in Jean's passing. Love to all of you. She will be dearly missed.
