I absolutely adored Mrs R (and Mr R) since the day I met them when Sue, my college BFF, brought me to their lovely home in Yardley for a weekend visit. Mrs R embraced me and always made me feel like family since day 1. That is what comes to mind first. Mrs R's presence was always kind, warm, and giving. She was an awesome hostess with great dinners. She let us have her kitchen to bake our annual Christmas cookies and drink pots of percolator coffee together. I still use the recipe for the Russian Tea Cakes and think of her. Mrs R threw a baby shower for me, Mr R read the gospel at my wedding, and I got to visit their St Croix house - like family. She left such an impression on me, that I'm tearing up as I write this. (But I'm so happy that I got to send her my sentiments in a note before she passed.) It is with heartfelt sincerity that I say Mrs R was simply a wonderful lady and I'm deeply sorry for the family's loss.

Dear Mrs. Rattigan, You have always been a special and gracious friend. Our times, together, in celebration and in fellowship will be something I will remember fondly. I cannot think of my childhood without including "Mrs R". From my days as a a toddler, she was laughing at me for something silly I did or said. There was hardly a day when I couldn't be in the Rattigan house, playing, eating, sleeping over. If I wasn't home, I was probably there. She was kind and funny. She was smart as a whip and didn't suffer fools. She was quite a woman. Best of all, she gave birth to one of the sweetest people in the world, her daughter Susan who is so much like her mom. I am so sad at her passing, but so glad she was part of my life. My deepest sympathy and love to the family. May her memory be a blessing. Marcy [Krich] Tanter

This is a very sad time that is only helped along because of all the happy memories. I met Barb in 1959 when my wide-to-be, Harriett, wanted me to meet her best friend since kindergarten. She, Dan, Harr and I did many things together including trips, dinners, conversations over cups of coffee, politics, and jokes along with raising wonderful kids. The pictures in our family album will keep the memories alive. God Bless. Bill Queale
